Numerous ID for the same author[edit]

@Epìdosis, Bargioni, Jneubert, Vladimir Alexiev, Carlobia, Kolja21:

Hi all,

I'm having a hard time grasping what to do with this property on Tibullus (Q109598); there are apparently twelwe identifiers for this author (14565,24075,57103, 57120, 66528, 69186, 71075, 71168, 71312, 71314, 71513,71592). The "standard" one seems to be 57120, and the others are for different and more precise "aspects" of Tibullus (Q109598) : there is the translations in German, the translations in English, etc. as well as the manuscripts, the lexicons, the bibliographies, etc. Surely this isn't an isolated case, as I spotted the same pattern on Dionysius of Halicarnassus (Q26204). What should be done there? --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 20:40, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Jahl de Vautban:! It's true, this catalogue, despite being useful for the coverage of Greek authors, has the disadvantage of having a lot of duplicates especially for people that are most often duplicated, such as ancient authors. I would advice, as in other cases, to add all the pertinent IDs and leave them here as of now, until they will eventually get merged. I and @Bargioni: will contact the Academy in the next days and we hope (although we aren't sure) to obtain some positive feedback. When we have updates, we will write here. --Epìdosis 20:48, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
