I feel like we should probably split this item between 'genderbender' s in relation to real-life genderroles and 'genderbending' as in relation to the trope found in works of fiction. It's pretty clear that most of the identifiers have nothing to do with the former. @Valentina.Anitnelav: --Trade (talk) 21:09, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Trade: I agree - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 07:02, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Valentina.Anitnelav: I can't think of a proper P31 Q112224709 --Trade (talk) 16:55, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Trade: how do we want to use it? If we use it as a genre we should probably make it an instance of genre. But then we should remove the fictional human subclass. We could also make it an instance of trope (Q112229208) (and maybe a subclass of fictional event?). Do we already have a property to indicate the tropes used in a work? Should we use uses (P2283) or depicts (P180)? - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 09:29, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
'Do we already have a property to indicate the tropes used in a work?' Genre should be sufficient. That's how people typically use the word.
Would making it a subclass of LGBTQ+ fiction (Q108281294) be inappropriate? What about Q1054122?
'If we use it as a genre we should probably make it an instance of genre. But then we should remove the fictional human subclass.' So we should split up futanari (Q1054122) as well?
How do we deal with fictional characters who are affected by LGBTQ+ fiction (Q108281294) and futanari (Q1054122)? sex or gender (P21)? character type (P9071)? @Valentina.Anitnelav:--Trade (talk) 09:59, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Trade: I did not express myself well: I would make this either a genre or a trope, not both. If this should represent a genre I would make this only an instance of genre(s). So I would delete P31 trope and plot device and I would delete P279 fictional event and fictional ability or attack.
If there are characters of the character type Gender Bender I would create an own item for the character type and add it using character type (P9071).
Notified participants of WikiProject Anime and Manga I'm not that familiar with conventions in anime and manga; maybe they have some ideas about modelling Gender Bender (and Futunari) - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 17:57, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Gender Bender in my experience has always been used as a genre descriptor and not as a descriptor of a character type. The way gender bender (Q112224709) appears to me currently seems to be good for use as-is at least for use with anime and manga. -Jeanjung212 (talk) 19:01, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
'and not as a descriptor of a character type' In order for a work to be in this genre there has to be characters for which this trope applies. Meaning we need some way to indicate that. @Jeanjung212:--Trade (talk) 18:20, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
