Capitalization[edit]

I reverted many of your edits, but please see Help:Labels#Capitalization before changing all labels. --Ricordisamoa 09:52, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ricordisamoa - Thanks for your notice and help. I have tried to revert most of my mistakes. --Glenn (talk) 10:09, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind. I just wanted to let you know it. --Ricordisamoa 10:10, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

instance of -> subclass of[edit]

Hi Glenn, I notice you've been doing a lot a classification for electrical engineering-related subjects. I wanted to point out that the domain of the instance of property (P31, formerly "is a") is restricted to "instances" of things, which are concrete objects like say ENIAC and Grace Hopper. Subjects like diodes and transister represent a class -- or type -- of thing, and thus are appropriately classified with subclass of (P279) rather than 'instance of'. An instance of a transistor would be one specific transistor among the millions of transistors in your CPU. The overview at Help:Basic membership properties gives some more detail on the difference between 'instance of' and 'subclass of'. The examples of classifying 'quark' there are applicable to classifying various electrical components, etc. Best, Emw (talk) 21:39, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your information, I did read about it at wikidata and in some web-sites, but did not find a description as clear as yours. Please. I will go through my edits later. I have edited english and danish instance of accordingly. Please check the english one and correct it if needed. Please note that here at wikidata the description - especially the english descriptions - ought to be elaborate and of course clear. --Glenn (talk) 07:33, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The English description looks good! Emw (talk) 12:18, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why have you merged category and template? --Infovarius (talk) 14:41, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please correct it - thanks. I do not understand russian and I can not log on with my usual account username - assuming it is the russian page that is wrong. I made a contextual guess. --Glenn (talk) 19:07, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tornquistzonen[edit]

Hej Glenn. --Necessary Evil (talk) 08:03, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you clearing Q12332549? Is it a duplicate of another item? Q.Zanden questions? 13:00, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please look at Special:Contributions/Glenn. The reference was moved to Ptolemaios 2. (Q39576). --Glenn (talk) 13:03, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your quick response! I merged both items to Q39576. Q.Zanden questions? 13:06, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Call for participation in a task-based online experiment[edit]

Dear Glenn,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender system that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our system based on your previous edits.

Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published to a research venue.

The study will start in late January 2022 or early February 2022, and it should take no more than 30 minutes.

If you agree to participate in this study, please either contact me at kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSees9WzFXR0Vl3mHLkZCaByeFHRrBy51kBca53euq9nt3XWog/viewform?usp=sf_link

I will contact you with the link to start the study.

For more information about the study, please read this post: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Kholoudsaa

In case you have further questions or require more information, don't hesitate to contact me through my mentioned email.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards
