deflag Innocent bot

I have not solved the problems regarding my bot here yet, and I do not know if and when I will have time to solve them. Maybe it's not important to deflag it now, only because of that. But it would stop people on other projects to ask me to solve their problems on Wikidata for them. Regards! -- Lavallen (block) 05:08, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

I do not see any issues with this request, so if there are no objections from other crats I am going to revoke the flag later today.--Ymblanter (talk) 09:03, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

Oversight Closures

All but one of the requests on WD:RFO were closed at the end of two weeks as "unsuccessful", not having 25 support votes. However, every single one of the requests had at least 80% support, some with even 100% support! Shouldn't requests like this be left open a while longer, with the requirements being "at least two weeks"? Thanks, FrigidNinja 11:39, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Having talked to the bureaucrats, it was generally seen as moving the goalposts of the election. I would reluctantly have to agree; the requests would have to be left extended for another week to receive the right number of supports, at the rate that the votes were coming in. The voting was well-advertised, as I was able to receive well above the number of supports to pass. I'm disappointed, but that's how it is I guess. --Rschen7754 11:45, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
I guess this means we do not know each other well enough yet. It will most likely be easier in the future.
Maybe we should try to convince somebody really well-known to candidate as an OS, maybe somebody from the larger projects or a Steward. -- Lavallen (block) 14:50, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

We do not think, an extension of the discussion length would solve the problem in this case. The community just does not seem to be interested either in having oversighters for now or in the candidates. As Rschen7754's request indicates, that's even not a minority. Many people who voted for him refrained from voting for other candidates. It is not the intention to force the project to have 2 OSes now. Let's the community decide, when a second candidate is needed and who it should be. Extending the current right discussions would be the wrong way. @Lavallen: That was already the case. Courcelles has oversight permissions on enwiki and metawiki. So this was not the problem either. The real problem is the lack of interest and need in oversighters. Even RFAs without that amount of advertisement get more attention, at the moment. Kind regards, Vogone talk 15:30, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Rschen7754 Oversight close

I fail to see any reason why Rschen7754's request has remained open three days after it was supposed to be closed. My guess is that the 'crats have decided to leave it open until there is another successful candidate, but that makes very little sense to me, and seems like an irregular response. Why not just close it as successful now, with a note that it won't go into effect until there is a second successful candidate? Sven Manguard Wha? 04:59, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Er well actually we were waiting for a crat who didn't vote (User:Bene*) to close it but he's busy IRL... Legoktm (talk) 05:00, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Two things then:
1) That's not at all what Ymblanter said at Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Oversight/Rschen7754
2) It's unanimous, with significantly more support than is statutorily required, and is three days over due. There's keeping best practice and then there's being silly...
Sven Manguard Wha? 05:06, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Wikidata:Requests_for_comment/Defining_bureaucrats#Recusal (=UCS IMO) . I suggest to be bold and close the request, if Bene* is not coming back very soon. --Stryn (talk) 07:55, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
This is what we are currently trying to figure out.--Ymblanter (talk) 08:28, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay, I have just closed as On hold. -- Bene* talk 09:09, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Yes, waiting for Bene* to put it on hold was what we initially decided, not to wait until a second candidate is elected. Sorry for the confusion. Regards, Vogone talk 12:29, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Merging pages

I don't know I'm at the right place here to ask, but could the pages Q3555835 and Q2515265 be merged? Sander.v.Ginkel (talk) 12:57, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

✓ Done. In the future you can do this yourself, see Help:Merge. --Stryn (talk) 12:59, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Flag request

Is this the place to request for a flood flag, or has it yet to be implemented on Wikidata? --Wylve (talk) 16:26, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

It's been implemented, but what is it needed for? --Rschen7754 17:11, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
(edit conflict) The flood flag was already enabled and yes, this is the right place for requesting it. Regards, Vogone talk 17:12, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
I'm trying to use the "duplicate statements to en category" function in the wikidata useful gadget. This will result in automatic edits of placing statements in various items. --Wylve (talk) 02:08, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Just ask for it, when you need it. And don't forget to remove it from your own account, after you are done (via Special:UserRights/Wylve then). If you plan to flood RC more often, you could also create an alternate account which could be flagged permanently. Kind regards, Vogone talk 23:35, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I would like to request for a flag for the prescribed purpose above. Thanks. --Wylve (talk) 03:51, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

zh-hans (Simplified Chinese) and some others marked as disabled ?

I posted it at Wikidata:Translators' noticeboard, but a translationadmin said it probably has nothing to do with wikidata but rather with the Extension:Translate. --凡其Fanchy 09:58, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Bugzilla would be the right place, if you wish any change to the wiki configuration. Bureaucrats cannot do anything here either. Regards, Vogone talk 17:47, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Rename to "cast member"

Suggesting that this property should be renamed to cast member Property_talk:P161. Cast being the correct term for the list of actors and others who play a role in productions. Danrok (talk) 15:29, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Please discuss it at the talk page of the property, and then every (autoconfirmed?) user can rename it.--Ymblanter (talk) 17:30, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
