Inactive interface admins

Hi. Per policy Interface administrators need to perform at least one JS/CSS edit outside their user space in twelve months. -revi (talkcontribslogs), Ash Crow (talkcontribslogs), NavinoEvans (talkcontribslogs) and Pasleim (talkcontribslogs) have not performed such an edit within the last twelve months (see stats), so IA should be revoked. Thanks, --Ameisenigel (talk) 21:57, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

Technical protected edit requests

I have done hard work with Category:Wikidata protected edit requests, and only technical edit requests (mostly old ones, over 6+ months) have left. If interface admins or bureacrauts have skills, then help would be very welcomed. And don't hesitate to cancel an edit-request if it seems to be too fuzzily presented Estopedist1 (talk) 07:52, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

Complaint against User:باسم for abuse of adminship

Hello! I would like to file a complaint against User:باسم for abuse of adminship rights on Wikidata, in resolving a dispute over item Q12249129 whereby he blocked me for 3 days (now lifted by User:Mahir256) for purported vandalism, essentially due to an ideological disagreement. As I already explained on the Administrators' noticeboard, the core of the dispute is not the content of the item (otherwise he could have requested a source supporting my claim, which I would have happily provided), but the legitimacy of Moroccan Arabic (Q56426) as a language listed in Wikidata and usable for property P1412 (languages spoken, written or signed) as opposed to Arabic (Q13955). Below is a translation of the exchange on my talk page, which was partially in Standard Arabic.

I also would like to request that the 3-day ban (which as I mentioned was promptly lifted) be removed from my history as it could unfairly impact any future procedures I may be involved in.

In short, @User:

  • Abused his adminship to settle a dispute he was directly involved in without consulting another administrator
  • Was not concerned about the content of the item itself (for which he did not request a reference to support the claim), rather about the general use of Moroccan Arabic as a "languages spoken, written or signed", betraying an ideological bias (see my talk page, the translation below, and his response on the Administrators' board)
  • Escalated the issue too quickly to a ban without following proper procedure as outlined in Wikidata:Vandalism
Bassem:
translation: do not make the Moroccan dialect as the mother tongue of Moroccan personalities
... we both know this is falsehood and falsification. If you continue, I will not hesitate to block you. You can do whatever you want in the Moroccan Arabic Wikipedia, but I will not allow spreading lies as truths
And please do not tell me this is not a dialect or that some institution recognizes it as a language, all of that has no value, we both know this is a lie, even if it's issued by the most specialized institutions in the world. I hope this will not be repeated
Me:
The fact is that Moroccan Darija is the mother tongue (of Moroccans) not Standard Arabic, and also the concerned person is an actor whose work is in Moroccan Darija, not in Standard Arabic, and it (Moroccan Darija) is available as a choice on the database, and there's no reason to ban it. If you continue this deception, I will have to follow the proper procedure (against it)
Bassem:
I have blocked you for 3 days for constant vandalism. Know that I will not tolerate it such lies and quackery (with you or anyone else). Either you stop or I will extend your ban if you return to vandalism for any reason regarding the uniqueness or independence of the Moroccan dialect.

And no, Ideophagous was not banned for failing to source the statement before someone tries to bring that up --Trade (talk) 03:31, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
Let's get this issue dealt with @Lymantria, Vogone, Ymblanter: --Trade (talk) 16:29, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
There is an active discussion at Wikidata:Administrators'_noticeboard#Ideophagous, but it would benefit from wider input. Bovlb (talk) 16:35, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
