Easy edit-request

please fulfill Translations talk:Wikidata:Tools/Lexicographical data/1/sl. Translation admin cannot do it. Estopedist1 (talk) 09:04, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

I do not think I can do it either, but there is a suggestion there which OP can follow. Ymblanter (talk) 19:33, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
I think that this discussion is resolved and can be archived. If you disagree, don't hesitate to replace this template with your comment. Estopedist1 (talk) 18:35, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

Request for a flood flag

I plan to add over 1M statements (P31) using QS to chemistry-related items. This is related to this page and the discussion in WikiProject Chemistry that is linked there. After that some existing P31 statements will be removed and some will be moved to P279 or other more specific properties. The whole process will probably take more than a month, but I plan to make all edits that require the flag within several days, probably the number of edits will exceed 2M, so the flood flag would be very important for this. have you considered applying for bot permissions on an alternate account? 1MM edits is a lot. BrokenSegue (talk) 18:05, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
I'm not really sure why I should consider this. The only difference here would be splitting the edits between two accounts which combined with the need to create another account, applying for the VPN-exempt flag, creating a page for such account, redirecting the discussion page to my main account... it does not seem necessary or beneficial for any reason. About 10 batches of 20k edits each per day, such edits can be filtered out from RecentChanges or Watchlists using two different filters, each batch can be easily reverted if needed. So, no, I'm not considering creating another account for this and I don't think I should. Wostr (talk) 19:42, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
because a million edits is something that should be approved by the community because undoing it is very expensive? BrokenSegue (talk) 19:48, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
And you think that a few people with random specialties on Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Bot page would approve it better than a few people in WikiProject Chemistry? If you want I can ask about it in WD:Chat, but still it's not an argument for creating another account and rather for a broader discussion than the one that has already been held. ah I had missed that there had been prior discussion about the change. I only saw the page where the change was proposed. BrokenSegue (talk) 20:57, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
