Motivation[edit]
narrative motif (Q1697305) is a central concept in the description and interpretation of literary and other narrative works. Currently depicts (P180) is used to indicate narrative motif (Q1697305) but this is actually problematic as depicts (P180) on literary/audiovisual works is ambiguous between things described (e.g. events being described as part of the plot) and imagery used. This property should contribute to improving the description of literary and narrative works (novels, poems, films, ...) in Wikidata and clearify some of the uses of depicts (P180) in this domain. Statements should be backed up with secondary sources. Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 08:56, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
