I seek "confirmed" and "autoconfirmed" user right flags.
I am a reputable user from Finnish Wikipedia. I also guarantee I am not a bot. 0dorkmann (talk) 07:36, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- @0dorkmann: Why do you need this right? --Ameisenigel (talk) 14:24, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- The Wikidata Web Client refuses me to edit some types of red algae. --0dorkmann (talk) 06:46, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose According to its last modifications (1), this user does not have sufficient knowledge. Moreover, a few hundred edits do not make a “reputable user”. ―Eihel (talk) 01:22, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
- Also I have been here since 2006 with different user accounts so the amount of edits is much larger than it seems. --0dorkmann (talk) 06:47, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not sure it sounds like an advantage... Well, on the whole. We can't grant you the flag of Autoconfirmed user because it's done by the system automatically if you made 50+ edits. I don't see a big reason to grant you the right of Confirmed user earlier than usual, because it's unclear how to estimate that you're a trusted user. For example, you don't have autochecked user or reviewer rights on the fiWP despite the relatively big number of local edits. The example of an edit (pointed by Eihel) doesn't appear to be too important for the database - we never start the descriptions from an indefinite article, and the English descriptions tends to be shorter. It's okay to clarify that the taxon of algae is specifically of red algae, but many editors may reduce it again to class of algae in order to make the description strictly complied with the recommendation.
I'd rather suggest you get a little more experience here at Wikidata, then one time you'll not have an issue with the edit confirmation. Regards, --Wolverène (talk) 07:44, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

For my alternate account. My main account User:NickK is autopatrolled for around 10 years. I struggle with some semi-protected pages on this account — Nick UA (talk) 16:59, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
- Done, trusted user. --Wolverène (talk) 18:25, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

I work for Musea Brugge (Bruges Museums) and would like to upload works from our drawing collection but don't have the rights. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by ESnns MB (talk • contribs).
- @ESnns MB: you don't need confirmed rights to make new items on wikidata BrokenSegue (talk) 18:33, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
- @ESnns MB: If you are talking about uploading files, these usually go to Wikimedia Commons, as you are probably aware. BTW My wife and I visited the Groeningemuseum last week and were very enchanted. Jonathan Groß (talk) 18:44, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

I´m writing for the bavarian Wiki new articles, but sometimes it´s not possible for me to connect the articles with other languages. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fusballaustria (talk • contribs).
- Done. The user can be trusted, I guess. --Wolverène (talk) 05:02, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

I would like to add new entities on Wikidata using OpenRefine but it seems I need more rights to do this. As an art historian I would like to contribute to the Wikidata community. It would be great if I could share my data. Please give me a permission (auto-confirmed author). Thank you! – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pomarancio (talk • contribs) at 13:32, 3 August 2023 (UTC).
- @Pomarancio: I'm not sure 'confirmed' is needed to create new items, but it would certainly be beneficial for mass-edits. Could you describe very briefly what kind of data you plan on uploading? Infrastruktur (talk) 16:49, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- I tried to do a mass-upload on wikidata but it didn't succeed because I am not granted the appropriate rights. The data is of art historical kind (i.e. creators and their background, artworks and information about their artworks) in order to link this data to wikimedia. The main goal is to open up my research to the wiki platform, to be linked with other data. Pomarancio (talk) 12:11, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Infrastruktur I work together with @Pomarancio as an art historian on this research. I would also like to share my part on wikidata. We have done the same kind of research but on different artworks, so it is the same kind of art historical data. ESnns MB (talk) 12:17, 22 August 2023 (UTC)

- @Pomarancio, ESnns MB: Sounds like you are familiar with OpenRefine so I'm going to give both accounts 'confirmed'. I still need to check back in a while to look over the quality of the uploads. It might be smart to start with a small test batch. Since art is not a field I'm familiar with perhaps it's best to ask for a quality check in the main chat, and just ping me in the message. Thanks.
