Hello, I am a editor at English Wikipedia and also translate articles. While translating, I find many articles that already exist in Wikipedia of other lingual editions(of other languages I am translating to) but are not connected to 'central data repository', few of which are semi protected so I can't do anything. Also in the process I find many wrongly linked articles to protected repository. If I could have the rights, I could perform my tasks better and improve 'WikiData' in the processes. Regards. - Could you provide us with some examples? Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 16:48, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Sjoerddebruin: Yeah, sure. Recently I was translating VMware from English to Hindi, and I noticed that macOS didn't have an article on Hindi Wikipedia, but when I searched for it, I found that it indeed had one. Then I tried to link it to the central repository. There I also found that Angika Wikipedia's article linked to macOS was that actually for mac and should be linked to this repository instead. However the page for macOS' central repository is semi protected and needs confirmed rights for changes, which I didn't. I frequently come across such cases while translating, and thus could perform in more optimal way if I had confirmed rights on WikiData. Thank You. - I have changed the sitelink connections that you mentioned here. Yes, there were issues. --Wolverène (talk) 12:23, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I would like to have confirmed rights in order to fix the ontology of entities that I'm pretty sure are incorrect. For example, that (Redacted) ((Redacted)), or that a political movement isn't a political organization (which I would need confirmed rights to change). I have some edits in Wikipedia, typically fixing errors, and I have a few edits in Wikidata under the IP linked above, also fixing errors and removing vandalism. Kclisp (talk) 16:35, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Kclisp I have removed the IP address that you linked as a precaution because it is generally undesirable to connect your IP with your account - I also hid the edit from the history. I did the same for the details of the specific edit since it would be easy to connect you to the IP address of the edit. That being said, given the level of contributions from the IP, and the fact that requesting confirmed rights was literally your first edit with the account, I'm inclined not to grant them, at least not for a bit. Please consider contributing to items that are not protected, or using an
{{Edit request}}
on the talk page of the item you cannot edit. --DannyS712 (talk) 17:43, 29 January 2024 (UTC)- Thank you for your efforts and reply. I will use that template. Kclisp (talk) 17:57, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
Not done. No consensus. You have minimal edit experience in any Wikimedia projects, not just on Wikidata. Although I admit your edits are looking good-faith I still recommend you to keep on contributing to Wikidata and re-apply the request for the confirmed right later, unless you will reach the threshold of 50+ edits (then you will not need in applying a request). Best wishes. --Wolverène (talk) 08:06, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

I would like to have confirmed rights so any short descriptions I add on enwiki to pages on here that are semi-protected can be added automatically. DrowssapSMM (talk) 03:44, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- You seem to add descriptions that start with capital letters which isn't preferred on Wikidata, see Help:Description. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 09:05, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- @DrowssapSMM: please note the Sjoerd de Bruin's comment. --Wolverène (talk) 12:03, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- Understood. DrowssapSMM (talk) 12:18, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- Would be nice for you to fix the descriptions you already added, then. :) --Wolverène (talk) 12:25, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- @DrowssapSMM: Hmm. By the time he does that he will be autoconfirmed. This will only take a couple of minutes too. Infrastruktur (talk) 10:54, 5 March 2024 (UTC)

Done, although only 14 edits are left for you from becoming autoconfirmed. The edits are good-faith. We still earnestly recommend you to prefer lowercase letters in the beginnings of the English descriptions (except for demonyms etc.). The uppercase will be fixed by someone else but it is just spending someone's time. All the best, --Wolverène (talk) 08:12, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

Hello, I would like to have confirmed rights so so any short descriptions I add to trwiki, azwiki, enwiki, frwiki, dewiki, ruwiki and other wikipedias can be automatically added to semi-protected pages here. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Quiklav (talk • contribs).
- Not done, you are an Autoconfirmed user already, so you do not need to get the Confirmed rights. It is for those who have less than 50 edits on Wikidata. --Wolverène (talk) 03:18, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- I couldn't add or subtract anything last night (system error I guess) --Quiklav (talk) 08:06, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
