@Epìdosis: Are you sure about property constraint (P2302)distinct-values constraint (Q21502410)? In Italian we have plenty of homographical terms with different meanings (here's a trivial example), therefore multiple items/lexemes could share a common identifier (which, by consequence, is not a real identifier).

P.S. I'm mentioning you because, for some reason, the constraint statements link to your property proposal as reference :-) Horcrux (talk) 15:47, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, it should be removed, I think. --Epìdosis 16:03, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Dhx1: I have a problem concerning the lexeme requires language constraint (Q55819106) that you added. How to handle cases like Lexeme:L728500? Horcrux (talk) 15:51, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Horcrux What is the Treccani Vocabulary ID (P5844) value you'd use for à la guerre comme à la guerre (L728500)? If Treccani Vocabulary ID (P5844) includes French lexemes then I suppose it's just a case of adding another language to the lexeme requires language constraint (Q55819106) for this property. Dhx1 (talk) 09:32, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dhx1: This was the statement that I added, but it has been removed by Mahir256. The point is that Treccani Vocabulary (Q4015908) is an Italian vocabulary but it may also contain (arbitrary, not just French) foreign words or expressions (as proverbs), if such words or expressions are also used in Italian. Should I create a new lexeme with language=Italian (Q652), since the proverb is used in Italian too?
P.S. Other examples: foodtelling (English), verruga (Spanish), kaputt (German). --Horcrux (talk) 09:58, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Horcrux I think the accepted approach for loanword (Q103808) is to create a new lexeme in each language. An example being Internet (L296214) (German) and Internet (L34630) (French) and the many other languages which have loaned Internet (L34626) (English origin). I'd assume it's the same for phrases that are loaned to different languages too, so perhaps creation of a new lexeme in the Italian language would be the best approach? Dhx1 (talk) 11:27, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Horcrux: If you must know, I only removed the ID because it was already present on an item you created to link to the sense. If that item did not exist, I would have kept the ID on the lexeme. Mahir256 (talk) 15:34, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
