We have author's rights (Q38746) and this one and they seem not the same, not sure what the difference is and the wikilinks are mixed up between those two concepts. If there is a difference, we should clarify that both in the properties as well as in the description. --Hannolans (talk) 08:17, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I very much agree that there is need for clarification and some cleanup here. The two concepts certainly are different; authors can sell or give away their copyright (right to make copies), but the author's rights to the work stay with them for the remainder of their life and typically isn't transferable. At least in the world of music publishing the distinction is kind of a big deal. I'm not a lawyer myself though and might be wrong, is there perhaps a Wiki "Legal Project" of sorts that could be summoned to have a look? - Moebeus (talk) 22:02, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That might be an interesting distinction, but not reflected in the wikilinks, properties and labels. Probably we could ask on https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Village_pump/Copyright to help to finetune? --Hannolans (talk) 23:21, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds brilliant, lead the way! (I'm a rookie 😊) Moebeus (talk) 23:39, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
