Shouldn't be the Ukrainian and Russian versions of this name in separate page? They are transliterated diferently (Maxim/Maksim for Russian and Maxym/Maksym for Ukrainian). --Silesianus (talk) 09:27, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
- Oh, you've risen an interesting issue! There is a similar (but reverse) case with Latin name Bernardo (Q11687769) which is transliterated differently to Russian (Бернардо for Spanish, Бернарду for Portuguese). And there were two different items (+Q20823800) but User:Harmonia Amanda has merged them. So these cases should be dealt consistently. --Infovarius (talk) 07:48, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

- They are dealt with consistently; one string, one item. --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 17:25, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
Harmonia Amanda, I oppose. Ukrainian i — Russian и, Ukrainian и — Russian ы! Ukrainian и ≠ Russian и! The symbol is the same, but the sound is completely different! See Romanization of Ukrainian and Romanization of Russian. Your actions and statements are incorrect. Compare 1 - Maxim (Q396447) / Maksim (Q42724156) — the symbol is different, but the sound is same. And what is - Maksym (Q18216059)? Why is the Polish separate? In this case, the Ukrainian is similar to the sound of Polish than Russian! --Микола Василечко (talk) 18:57, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- But Ukrainian "Максим" is not the same string as Polish "Maksym", so it shouldn't be there too. Probably it should be on its own item. --Infovarius (talk) 12:24, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
Ukrainian "Максим" is not Russian "Максим"!!! Ukrainian i — Russian и, Ukrainian и — Russian ы! Ukrainian и ≠ Russian и! --Микола Василечко (talk) 17:22, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- I know this. But at Wikidata spelling of names is over pronunciation! --Infovarius (talk) 00:16, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
