Query for chart of Wikidata growth[edit]

#defaultView:LineChart
# derived from [[Talk:Q38074555]]
SELECT ?date ?qid
{
# uncomment next line for Items
# wd:Q2013 p:P527 [ ps:P527 wd:Q16222597; pq:P1114 ?qid ; pq:P585 ?date ]
# uncomment next line for Lexemes
 wd:Q2013 p:P527 [ ps:P527 wd:Q51885771; pq:P1114 ?qid ; pq:P585 ?date ]
}

Try it! (Obsolete and not exact data). See Talk:Q38074555 and Talk:Q55003547 instead. --Infovarius (talk) 10:09, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia[edit]

How include a link from here to Wikipedia?. --Diamondland (talk) 07:23, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You don't. It is done automatically. If you don't see the interwikis in the target page, request a full reload from your Web browser (Ctrl-F5). They should appear on the left side of the page. Cantons-de-l'Est (talk) 18:19, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bug tracking system[edit]

I'm concerned by the issue tracker URL (P1401) statements on this item. The property description states that it should be used for software, and I don't think Wikidata really qualifies. Should these statements perhaps be at Wikibase (Q16354758) instead? --Yair rand (talk) 22:59, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

owned by[edit]

data can't be owned because of CC0: anyone or no one, but not WMF d1g (talk) 11:42, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Then set "Wikidata" is subset of the set "CC0 data" --Fractaler (talk) 12:08, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@D1gggg: Based on the other statements in the item, the topic is not the dataset/content (which is under CC0), but the website/project/brand/database, which is owned by the WMF. However, this seems to contradict the presence of the copyright license (P275) statement. --Yair rand (talk) 22:21, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Yair rand: well, I don't know license for "website" part or "owner" claims here.
Probably Q2013 is about project first, not database first:
"free knowledge database project hosted by Wikimedia and edited by volunteers" d1g (talk) 19:48, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Yair rand: I'm confused with these statements:
⟨ subject ⟩ instance of (P31) View with SQID ⟨ knowledge base (Q593744)  View with Reasonator View with SQID ⟩
⟨ subject ⟩ instance of (P31) View with SQID ⟨ online database (Q7094076)  View with Reasonator View with SQID ⟩
Maybe a separate item with license CC0 would be better. d1g (talk) 19:53, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
There are: 1) objects, 2) object's space. We have: 1) data (graph vertices, virtual objects in virtual space, database object/URLs) 2) "object's space" (Wikidata reference system, Wikidata's database/Wikidata's group of URLs, space in Internet now - www.wikidata.org/wiki/*). This system is created approximately like this: HDD/RAM-space -> virtual space for wiki software (Q6686945) -> wiki software (Q6686945)'s space for data representation/management). So, "owned by Wikidata's database"? --Fractaler (talk) 08:43, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Google Summer of Code 2018[edit]

IMHO we could add a statement similar to this one https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q465#P1344 Source: https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/archive/2018/projects/5957416260730880/

Statistics[edit]

Does it make sense to store counts of Items and Lexemes here rather than at Q38074555 in order to get plot like at right? Look query at the top. --Infovarius (talk) 21:40, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

IM channel link is wrong[edit]

The link provided in property "IM channel" (t.me/wikidata) points to inactive and basically empty channel, I suggest it to be removed --A13ph (talk) 10:16, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Country of origin?[edit]

Reː this revert by ̊@LydiaPintscher (I've added country of originː USA, but Lydia notes WD was started in Germany). Ping also @Vanbasten 23 . Lydia makes good point, but from the legal and common sense perspective, WD is owned by WMF, and therefore is an American organization. What kind of properties we can use to reflect both associations? (If you reply here, please ping me). Piotrus (talk) 05:37, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
