Official name[edit]

The Vargas state is no longer called that. Its name was officially changed in 2019, by the state government entity. Its name is La Guaira State. link--MusicologoVzla (talk) 19:11, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There was an "administrative" change, but the name of Vargas is still widely used. You have been repeatedly informed of this in at least the German and the English Wikipedias (where in the former you were blocked for the same reason), and now in Wikidata, yet you persist in pushing for the change. This amounts to cross-wiki disruptive editing, please stop. --NoonIcarus (talk) 10:38, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Ymblanter:, The old name of the Vargas State, its name was officially changed in 2019 with a legal and administrative nature by the federal entity of said entity to the new name of La Guaira State. The change is legal in nature and applies to all institutions in La Guaira, both public and private. In fact, there was also a change in its shield and its national anthem. Here are some references: link 1, link 2, link 3. It seems to me then that the blockade that was made without me arguing why to place the current name of said state, which is even transferred in Spanish Wikipedia, seemed unfair to me. But beyond that situation, I have opened the thread for knowledge. The Wikipedian who once again puts the name into disuse insists on deleting it and leaving only Estado Vargas. I ask that you please attach it to your current name. First of all, Thanks.--MusicologoVzla (talk) 21:33, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Here, we follow the names used in Wikipedia. If you want to change the English name, go to the English Wikipedia and try to get the article moved.--Ymblanter (talk) 08:50, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
