Named After Property[edit]
Winnipeg was not named after Lake Winnipeg. It was named for the Cree word for "muddy waters". Jimj wpg (talk) 15:43, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
- Actually it was taken from the lake, but the meaning is "smelly waters". The Cree also une this word for the Hudson Bay. --Fralambert (talk) 23:20, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
