May 2019

[edit]

Stop adding false information, as you did to Elizabeth I of England (Q7207). Jc3s5h (talk) 22:05, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This was a data look up issue. The opera Le songe d'une nuit d'été (Q6508117) had Elizabeth I of England (Q7207) as a character (as many other operas had real people as character). I corrected the ones which were wrong and reverted the changes when not done already.

Hello Arizcraf, could you have a look at Director of the Theatre (Q63535957) and Cesare Salsapariglia (Q63535962)? Somehow they were created without labels and descriptions so that it is difficult to identify the characters they should represent. Thank you! - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 14:36, 9 May 2019 (UTC) QuickStatements failed me (tried to do parallel batches which failed). Added the information manually now[reply]

conflating actors with characters

[edit]

Hello. It appears that when edting the item Make It Snappy (Q17089509), you conflated cast member (P161) with characters (P674) and created redundant, inaccurate items: creating many "fictional characters" (e.g. Dolly Hackett (Q63890870) and Eddie Cantor (Q63890765) that are actually real humans (e.g. Eddie Cantor (Q350472); see the source data at IBDB). I think these pseudo-characters should either be deleted or merged into the humans they represent, and the list of characters (P674) replaced with cast member (P161). What do you think? If you've made many similar creations/additions for other musicals, and the problem is too big to resolve manually, perhaps a bot request could be performed. -Animalparty (talk) 06:54, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

musical characters based on real-life characters

[edit]

Hi there! See Gerry Goffin - this is a musical character based on the real-life person Gerry Goffin so I removed P31 = fictional human and added based on. Is that the right way to do it? I have a few of these, just wanted to check with you before editing more of them. Moebeus (talk) 09:48, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
