Motivation
[edit]I ask to add AdoroCinema to Wikidata for movies. It's an important site with reliable informations. It is the Brazilian version of the French AlloCiné (Q31165) and one of the most reliable Brazilian sites about cinema and TV series, and it would be the only one in Portuguese among the other IDs. - Support It's a important movie site in Brazil, so will be useful use it like authority control. Mr. Fulano! Talk 02:47, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- Comment. I'm wondering does the site contain any non-trivial information on Brazilian cinema which can't be found on e.g. IMDb or AllMovies? 'Cause I see not so much differences comparing to other local/regional movie databases. --Wolverène (talk) 11:02, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- That alone shouldn't be our criteria for approving external identifiers. Even being able to tell that the entity with identifier x in one database is the same as the entity with identifier y in another database is very useful and we should support that. --LydiaPintscher (talk) 20:58, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- How big are the chances for this database to have its own property here? --Wolverène (talk) 00:00, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Wolverène: "AdoroCinema" is similar to "AlloCiné", as I told before. Actually, there aren't no many differences among all the IDs. Some of the are simple database (such as AllMovie). The main reason for including "AdoroCinema" is that it is one of the most reliable sites in Portuguese about cinema, and it would be the only one in Portuguese among the IDs. About the cinema.com.do, it is not a Brazilian site (it's written in Spanish), it is unlikely that contains more information about Brazilian cinema. Yanguas (talk) 00:41, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- The question about cinema.com.do wasn't addressed to you, I just found one more local film database and asked Lydia Pintscher about what she thinks. Of course I know the differences between Spanish and Portuguese and between Brazil and the Dominican Republic.

- As this is the only Portuguese-language database among presented in properties, well this fact makes the site more valued. I don't stay oppose the nomination, I just wanted to learn more about what I might support. --Wolverène (talk) 00:56, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
Comment As the votes are sufficient, but there are still a few comments, I add a small addendum before the creation of the property. @Wolverène:, all property requires the approval of the community. www.cinema.com.do is a directory of cinema screenings per site, so a page becomes obsolete as soon as the film is no longer showing.
To come back to this proposition @Yanguas:, this site is similar to Allociné, and for good reason: this site is part of the French Group Webedia as AlloCiné in French, Filmstarts in German, SensaCine in Spanish, Beyazperde in Turkish, SensaCine under www.sensacine.com.mx, etc. There is no restriction on resemblance: like any participative site, there can be additional informations in other languages, like on WP. Happy New Year. —Eihel (talk) 23:11, 2 January 2020 (UTC)

- Sorry for a quibble but databases are usually not quite reliable. --Wolverène (talk) 00:00, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Wolverène: Why would databases be less reliable? I think that databases have as much credibility than their maintainers. Now, if you talk about an open database like WD, well, that's another question. --Antoine2711 (talk) 19:20, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
