- Motivation
The Peerage (Q21401824) is a genealogical website compiled by Darryl Lundy, and identifies over 600K people. It is reasonably accurate, and there would be synergy with genealogics.org person ID (P1819), WikiTree person ID (P2949) and WeRelate person ID (P4159); also with the smaller Kindred Britain ID (P3051). In this area it is important to have multiple independently-researched sources. The Peerage gives references for much of its content, to hard copy authorities, and also to online discussions and email communications. There are quite a number of portraits. The site is deprecated on enWP under a referencing guideline on "self-published" content, but is in use on other Wikipedias. Charles Matthews (talk) 17:45, 26 November 2017 (UTC)

- I've added a regex. Will we ever want to use values like p1177.htm? Note that
http://www.thepeerage.com/p1177
is invalid. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:44, 26 November 2017 (UTC)- It appears the /i\d+$/ part is the unique ID, however, I could not find a way to link to that without the (presumed) page numberm so I'm using the full page name/anchor as ID in mix'n'match. If The Peerage ever offers a direct link to a i number, we can bot-replace the existing values in Wikidata. --Magnus Manske (talk) 19:23, 26 November 2017 (UTC)

Comment Can we also use the surname identifier, for example Laval (Q23072571) → i2218.htm#s30171? Sic19 (talk) 11:51, 2 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Charles Matthews, Pigsonthewing, Magnus Manske, Salgo60, ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2, Sic19: Done Note that I had to use the wikidata-externalid-url translator due to the '#' character in the identifiers - wikidata transforms that into a %-encoded string that does not work directly on the peerage.com website.
