Genres des arts de la scène

Le tableau récapitulatif des genres des arts de la scène a été créé à l'origine sur la base d'une analyse des catégories utilisées par la Collection suisse de théâtre et des catégories déjà présentes sur Wikidata. Au cours du processus, deux classes (catégories) ont été nouvellement créées. D'autres catégories peuvent être ajoutées si cela est jugé nécessaire dans le cadre d'autres apports de données.

Catégories utilisées par la Collection suisse de théâtre

La Collection suisse de théâtre distingue différents genres d'arts de la scène ; une liste est fournie ci-dessous. Dans le cas du "Répertoire des Schauspielhauses", toutes les productions appartiennent aux genres "Sprechtheater" ("théâtre parlé") ou "Schauspiel mit Musik" ("drame avec musique").

Types de spectacles de théâtre musical

Les spectacles de théâtre musical, tels que les comédies musicales ou les opéras, peuvent être produits sous forme de spectacles scéniques complets (avec le jeu des acteurs, les costumes, les accessoires et la scénographie), sous forme de spectacles semi-scéniques (avec le jeu des acteurs, mais généralement sans scénographie et avec un nombre limité d'accessoires et de costumes) ou sous forme de spectacles de concert (sans jeu des acteurs et sans costumes ou scénographie - les chanteurs ne font que chanter leurs rôles). Notez que le oratorio (Q85477) en tant que genre est à peu près équivalent à une représentation de concert d'un opéra - la principale différence étant qu'un opéra en tant qu'œuvre est à l'origine destiné à des représentations scéniques complètes, alors qu'un oratorio ne l'est pas.

Public cible

Certains articles de Wikipédia font référence à des types de théâtre définis par leur public cible, tels que youth theatre (Q2416110) ouTheatre for Early Years (Q18394038)   . Il est déconseillé d'utiliser ces types pour caractériser des productions ou des spectacles de théâtre. La propriété intended public (P2360) doit être utilisée à la place.

Types de performances

Les types de représentations ci-dessous ont été initialement dérivés du dataset "Repertoire des Schauspielhauses Zürich" et ont été vérifiés avec les types de représentations utilisés dans la base de données de la Collection suisse de théâtre. D'autres types peuvent être ajoutés si cela est jugé nécessaire pour d'autres apports de données.

Professions typiques des arts de la scène

Notez que l'accent est mis sur les professions impliquées dans la production d'événements en direct ; pour films, musique, broadcasting, jeux vidéos, livres, etc. voir les projets Wikidata respectifs. Les professions des domaines adjacents qui comprennent également des éléments de spectacle vivant, comme la danse à bandes, la lutte et autre ont été exclues. Les professions de l'enseignement, comme celles de maître de danse, ont également été exclues du tableau.

Le tableau ci-dessous couvre les professions auxquelles il est fait référence dans Wikidata (à partir d'octobre 2020) ; pour les retrouver, il suffit de cliquer sur l'icône "métier". Ainsi, bon nombre des éléments énumérés dans le tableau peuvent être définis non seulement comme "profession", mais aussi comme "poste".les requêtes ci-dessous ont été utilisées :

• plus de 100 fois pour les types d'artistes du spectacle vivant
• plus de 100 fois pour les types de professionnels du théâtre
• plus de 500 fois pour les types d'écrivains
• plus de 1000 fois pour les types de musiciens

Tableau récapitulatif des professions typiques des arts de la scène

Les professions, les postes et les rôles sont des concepts distincts liés au travail, qui peuvent facilement être confondus :

• Les "professions" désignent le type de travail habituellement effectué par une personne ; elles sont généralement définies par l'ensemble des compétences et l'éducation/la formation requises pour ce type de travail ;
• Les "postes" désignent une relation spécifique d'emploi ou de mandat entre une personne et une organisation ;
• Les "rôles" désignent les contributions de personnes à des activités dans le domaine des arts de la scène (œuvres/productions ou événements).

La confusion entre ces concepts peut être amplifiée par l'homonymie :

• "Metteur en scène" peut être à la fois une profession et un rôle au sein d'une production.
• Le terme "chef d'orchestre" peut être les trois : une profession, un rôle dans un spectacle et un poste au sein d'un orchestre.

Ainsi, de nombreux éléments énumérés dans le tableau ne sont pas seulement définis comme "profession", mais aussi comme "poste" (souvent à juste titre, mais parfois la catégorisation peut être contestée - comme indiqué sous "remarques").

Work-related information can and should sometimes be modelled with properties other than occupation (P106). These other work properties can be used as a main statement or can be stated as a qualifier to the occupation statement. This being said, properties used as main statements are easier to query and enable better data reuse.

Types de voix et Fach

Il existe deux propriétés de WD pour indiquer le type de voix des chanteurs d'opéra et les rôles d'opéra : type de voix (P412) et sa sous-propriété Fach (P1731). Alors que les sept types de voix (P412) (soprano, mezzo-soprano, contralto, contre-ténor, ténor, baryton, basse) se réfèrent principalement à la tessiture vocale et au genre, le Système Fach allemand est une méthode de classification des chanteurs d'opéra (et des rôles d'opéra) selon la tessiture, le poids et la couleur de la voix (requise). Alors que le système Fach est largement aligné sur les sept types de voix de base, il comprend des types plus spécifiques qui font parfois référence au type de rôle correspondant au type (par exemple, buffo, rôle de personnage, etc.).

Afin de maximiser la cohérence et d'éviter de conserver beaucoup d'informations redondantes, les types de voix de base sont indiqués à l'aide de la propriété type de voix (P412). Lorsque des informations plus spécifiques sont disponibles (Fach ou similaire), elles sont indiquées au moyen de la propriété Fach (P1731). En outre, l'ontologie est conçue de manière à garantir que chaque instance de Fach (Q1748957) est définie comme une sous-classe d'un des types de voix de base. Ainsi, il est possible que les types de voix de base typiquement associés aux voix féminines puissent avoir des sous-classes associées à des voix masculines (par exemple, le "sopraniste" de Fächer, le "soprano de garçon" et le "castrat soprano" sont tous des sous-classes du type de voix féminine "soprano"). Artefacts Documenting Activities Related to the Performing Arts

The table below contains an overview of artefacts related to the performing arts, which are often collected and preserved in order to document activities and the works of this ephemeral art form.

The table contains a tentative typology of such artefacts. We thereby differentiate between the following types of artefacts:

• Artefacts documenting the creative process and its results:
  • Artefacts documenting the creative process ahead of the first official representation (premiere) of a given work
  • Artefacts documenting the representations and the immediate reception of a given work
  • Artefacts documenting the "afterlife", i.e. the long-term reception and impact, of a given work
• Artefacts documenting administrative processes
• Artefacts documenting the infrastructure used

The table also indicates the preferred properties to be used to point to respective entries in archival finding aids and collection catalogues. See Estermann (2020) for an example implementation of such references on Wikidata. Thus, the table, along with the practices proposed in the referenced report provide the basis for the creation of a "WorldCat" of the performing arts, i.e. a comprehensive catalogue of artefacts documenting the performing arts. Wikidata provides the possibility to add such references to various types of Wikidata items, such as items describing performing arts productions; individual performances; people and organizations involved in the performing arts; cultural venues; literary, musical, and choreographic works, etc. Given the richness of the performing arts domain, the approach proposed here can eventually be used to create similar catalogues of artefacts for a variety of other domains. Note, however, that the implementation of the approach is (as of 2023) still at an experimental stage.

We currently (as of 2023) suggest the use of the following properties to point to said artefacts:

• archives at (P485) – to point to archival fonds, typically consisting of two-dimensional artefacts that have been gathered and organized according to the principle of provenance
• documentation files at (P10527) – to point to documentation, typcally consisting of two-dimensional artefacts that have been gathered and organized according to the principle of pertinence (see also its subproperty artist files at (P9493))
• oral history at (P9600) – to point to oral history recordings or transcripts of interviews with contemporary witnesses
• personal library at (P9419) – to point to the personal library of the respective person
• object collection at (property to be created) – to point to an object collection, typcially consisting of three-dimensional artefacts
• video recording(s) at (property to be created) – to point to a video recording of a given subject (event, performing arts production, place, person, etc.)
• audio recording(s) at (property to be created) – to point to an audio recording of a given subject (event, performing arts production, person, etc.)
• photograph collection at (property to be created? - or can this be covered by documentation files at (P10527) with a has part(s) of the class (P2670) qualifier?) – to point to a photograph collection documenting a given subject (event, performing arts production, person, place, etc.)
