Nomen Latinum[edit]
Hi @Demetrius Talpa:, shouldn’t the Latin name be “Cantabriga”? The Help:Label page specifically mentions that in English, no qualifier should be applied to the label, for instance. ("Cambridge is the label of a city in England (Cambridge (Q350)) as well as of a city in Massachusetts, USA (Cambridge (Q49111)).") The criteria is that "a label does not have to be unique", should "Reflect common usage" and "Because the aim is to use the name that an item would be known by to the most readers, labels should reflect common usage". It also says "Disambiguation information should not … be part of the description".
I imagine that when US Latinists write about Cantabriga, they would say Cantabriga, rather than append a qualifier? --JimKillock (talk) 08:13, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
