Page d'accueil en français

Salut Ayack.

Pour Mérimée, peut-on indiquer « 2 letters [PEI]A follow by a 8 digits number »

--Zolo (talk) 17:41, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 19:13, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

P:P611 "religious order", P:P612 "mother house" are available

Hi,

The above property is now available and can be used on items. I noticed you first proposed its creation. --  Docu  at 18:36, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

P:P614 "archipelago" available

Hi,

The above property is now available and can be used on items. I noticed you first proposed its creation. --  Docu  at 19:33, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Two similar requests

Hi! I noticed that you made 2 requests here: [1]. But, they look the same, except one has "create if needed". I think you can just edit the page, and change/delete as needed. Danrok (talk) 16:18, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

You're right. An "Unknown Error!" message fooled me. Thanks!. Ayack (talk) 17:10, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

MH sur Wikidata

Salut,

Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 15:47, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Ayack (talk) 11:02, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

creating properties

Hi. I just see you created some properties yesterday, which is great. Just two little points you perhaps don't be aware. You copied the proposal discussion to the archive, which is very good. But I see the status is still "in progress" (grey). As soon as you've created the property you can enter the ID (without leading P) to the status field, so the color will change the green and the text "done" is appended. The second point is just a tip, you perhaps feel other, but in my opinion it would be good to mark the proposal discussion on the property discussion site as closed. Take a look at a property I created here. You see the block and the background color and the warnings at the top and bottom? This is just a warning the discussion is closed and nobody should add comments. You just have to put {-{discussion top}-} and {-{discussion bottom}-} (without the -) to the wikicode. It's not really necessary, but in my opinion it's a good way. However, thanks for creating properties. --Nightwish62 (talk) 19:26, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice! Ayack (talk) 14:36, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

--Fralambert (talk) 22:40, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

Congratulations, Dear Administrator!

English | español | français | Nederlands |

An offering for our new administrator from your comrades... (our gift is better than the one at Commons or Meta)

You have your gun; now here's your badge: {{User admin}}/{{#babel:admin}} and {{Admin topicon}}. Enjoy!

Ayack, congratulations! You now have the rights of administrator on Wikidata. Please take a moment to read the Wikidata:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Wikidata:Project chat and Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings, or modifications of protected pages.

Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikidata-admin @ irc.freenode.net. If you need access, you can flag someone down at #wikimedia-wikidata @ irc.freenode.net. You may find Commons:Guide to adminship to be useful reading, although it doesn't always completely apply here at Wikidata. You may also want to consider adding yourself to meta:Template:Wikidata/Ambassadors, and to any similar page on your home wiki if one exists. (WT:Wikidata/Wikidatans on En-WP.)

Please also add/update the languages you speak to your listing at Wikidata:List of administrators. You may also like to add your username to this list if you would not like that items you delete at RfD get marked as deleted automatically. Again, welcome to the admin corps!

--Ymblanter (talk) 08:35, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Please accept my congratulations with the promotion.--Ymblanter (talk) 08:35, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Et un franco de plus!!! Bravo. Benoit Rochon (talk) 18:24, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
Congrats. Always good to have administrators who actually proposed properties!
BTW Would you add my requests from User talk:Legobot/properties.js/requests to User:Legobot/properties.js? I double-checked them two weeks ago and will review the result afterwards. --  Docu  at 10:52, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
Done! Ayack (talk) 11:46, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

The Wikipédia have you follow the black link. Bonne journée Mike Coppolano (talk) 11:01, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Bonnes contributions. Mike Coppolano (talk) 14:25, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Label Collector

Hi Ayack. You are using my Label Collector script (thanks for this!), and as far as I can see, you're the only one who has made some configurations for it in his common.js file. Since publishing it I worked quite bit on it to make it more generally and more easily usable. Now it's in a state where I hope it to be usable without the need for any customization, and so I dropped all remaining options today. The lcUiLang, lcEditorLanguages and lcHideWithoutSitelinks options in your common.js are without any effect now. For you as for anyone else, now the behaviour is: The UI langage is in your user language (if possible, English otherwise, so no change here), entries for all languages that have sitelinks or labels or descriptions or that are in your Babel languages are shown and can be edited, but all not being in your Babel languages are collapsed by default, meaning that no changes will be saved there. Your Babel languages are auto-collapsed (not completely hidden any more) if there are no sitelinks or if they are already filled. So for you, French, English and Spanish are always shown, may be auto-collapsed, but can be expanded if want to edit something there nonetheless. I hope you can work with this and like the changes. If you have any ideas what could be improved, just let me know. Otherwise, I won't be bothering you any more. Have a nice day. --YMS (talk) 17:22, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

--Zolo (talk) 12:49, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

--Zolo (talk) 20:29, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
--Zolo (talk) 21:34, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Dispatch Lag and Bots

Hello, Today Lydia and I noticed that DispatchStats have been increasing since the Wikiquote deployment. Currently the lag is at around 18 hours, which means all changes being made to Wikidata are taking more than 18 hours to be reflected on Wikimedia wikis.

Because of the high dispatch lag, we are asking if all bot operators could please stop their bots or have them tone down the number of edits for around 24 hours in order to allow Dispatch to catch up at a minimum. If possible, we would appreciate bot operators to stop bots until dispatch is down to a low level (which may be more than 24 hours), you can view the stats at Special:DispatchStats. Lydia has posted a similar message to this at Wikidata:Project Chat and the mailing list where we have asked all uses of Widar or other high editing programs to stop.

Since Dispatch is an important part of Wikidata and it is essential that changes are reflected on Wikimedia wikis as soon as, if Dispatch is still an issue tomorrow morning (around 11:00 UTC), we may choose to stop bots from editing Wikidata for a selected time of around 12 - 24 hours or until the bot has been stopped. If you have any queries, feel free to poke me or Lydia Pintscher, or post on project chat or reply to the email. Thanks, John F. Lewis (talk) 14:11, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Lydia discovered the issue behind high dispatch was changes were not being dispatched at all. Unless this issue is fixed and changes begin being dispatched, Lydia has asked that bots be stopped by 17:30 UTC (in two hours) to reduce the amount of disruption to Wikimedia wikis with data dispatching in future. Please contact her if you have any queries. John F. Lewis (talk) 15:27, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Merging items

Hallo Ayack,

For merging items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" to automatically place a request to delete the emptied page. This way of nominating makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.

With regards,
- User:CycnUser:CycnUser:CycnUser:Cycn - (Cycn/talk) 06:51, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Be a bit more careful when merging items - you merged Chao Chet (Q15980709) with Chao Chet (Q16500077), however the two items were on two different things which just shared the same name. A bit like you merged New York City with New York state. There are still tons of real duplicates, so when in doubt better skip the merge and go to a more obvious case.

Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 15:57, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Coordinates of peoples and spacecrafts

Hi, please be more careful during data import: [5], [6], [7], ... — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk)

Hello, your bot makes same errors again. Please stop it and remove invalid coordinates. — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 03:35, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Hello again, could I delete coordinates of humans now? Or your bot will add its again? — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 15:28, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

Hello Ivan, I was trying to do it by myself but I have a problem with the script (see here). I won't add them again. Thanks (and sorry for the mess). — Ayack (talk) 18:01, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
I deleted coordinate location (P625) added by your bot from person and spacecraft items. I never used pywikipedia so can not help with it. But I can execute concrete tasks using my bot if needed. — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 08:27, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

Capitalization

Hi, I saw that you reverted my capitalization of the English label of Battle of Gettysburg. This is a name / proper noun, so IMHO it should be capitalized, as described in the Help [8]. Thanks :-) Fred Johansen (talk) 19:44, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi Fred Johansen, Battle of Gettysburg (Q33132) is a battle which took place near Gettysburg. So I don't see it as a proper noun. But since I'm not fully fluent in English, I won't argue on this (and I don't really care as I mainly use Wikidata in French). — Ayack (talk) 20:22, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi Ayack, you're bot seems to have erroneously added a lot of identifiers to items about list articles, see for example listed buildings in Alvanley (Q6646054). Can you please revert these edits? I noticed them at Wikidata:Database_reports/Constraint_violations/P1216#.22Single_value.22_violations, but autolist gives a better overview. Multichill (talk) 12:58, 31 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi Multichill, yes I had to stop this task because at this time a lot of list weren't identified as such. I'm looking for a way to revert these edits but it can take some time. I'll keep you informed. — Ayack (talk) 21:14, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
Any news on this? Multichill (talk) 16:26, 21 October 2014 (UTC)

— Ayack (talk) 19:14, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Confusing edit from bot

See here How does a person have coordinates? Please use {{Ping}} if you respond here. Thanks. —Justin (koavf)TCM 05:06, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Noted also adding coordinates to disambiguation page, association football club or company. Plese fix all of these error classes and next time consider, that not all from wikis can be straightly imported to wikidata. Also note that import of coors from cawiki was already done. --Jklamo (talk) 13:55, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Please, do not use Belarus (Q184) for dates before 1991 year. In Chaïm Soutine (Q160141) context the Russian Empire (Q34266) should be used as first value or country of citizenship (P27). -- Vlsergey (talk) 03:59, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Erreur d’AyackBot

Salut,

P1196 takes only 5 values

Hi, I notice you added many manner of death (P1196) claims via User:AyackBot, e.g. "Croquart manner of death horse fall". As noted at Property_talk:P1196, P1196 takes one of only 5 values:

Values like horse fall (Q2967712) are appropriate for cause of death (P509), but not manner of death (P1196). These properties are imported pieces of controlled vocabulary used by demographers to structure general and specific data on how people die. See Wikidata:Property_proposal/Archive/20#manner_of_death for more detail. I have fixed most of the erroneous "manner of death (P1196) horse fall (Q2967712)" claims -- just wanted to leave a note for future reference. Thanks, Emw (talk) 01:44, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

Q18606820 ?

Bonjour,

Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 11:54, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

08:17, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Ayack (talk)

situation administrative

Bonjour, j'ai vu que tu as cancellé mon change.

--Fralambert (talk) 17:46, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
Fralambert, c'est curieux ce que tu dis là, pour tous les MH, on utilise bien located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) (cf. Property talk:P1435). — Ayack (talk) 18:01, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

--Zolo (talk) 17:00, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

Property proposal discussion

Hi Ayack

Where can I found the discussion about the creation of senat.fr ID (P1808) ? --- Jura 11:04, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

@Jura1: Ahem, you can't. I bypassed the process as the result of the proposal seemed obvious for me (but I admit I shouldn't have done it). Now, if you think it shouldn't be on Wikidata, you can ask its deletion here. — Ayack (talk) 16:43, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
My rule about the subject is event for obvious property to make a proposition. I wait at least one week to see if there is a oposition and then I create it. --Fralambert (talk) 22:52, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

Property creations

Hi Ayack, I see you recently created several properties. Could you please complete the steps described at Wikidata:Property_creators#Steps_when_creating_properties for these properties? Thank you, Multichill (talk) 20:42, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

This property appears to be a mess in it's present form. It does not correspond to the original property proposal. It is too ambiguous, and therefore likely to result in poor data. There are many ways in which height is measured, we need to have specific properties, for different methods, e.g. topographic prominence rather than just height. Salut,

Museofile

Hi Ayack, sorry to report that I had a little accident with the Museofile Mix'n'match - deleted all the entries there. I think' I've re-imported them, and matched the ones from Wikidata. Just don't be surprised if names have changed slightly etc. --Magnus Manske (talk) 12:59, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi Magnus, no problem, thanks for your work! — Ayack (talk) 13:14, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Reverting edits based on birth in Occitania

Hi there. I notice that you are reverting edits by User:Jiròni, such as this one, yet Pèire Godolin was born in Toulouse, which is in Occitania, France. User:Jiròni was therefore correct. In fact, if you take a look at item Toulouse (Q7880) you will see, listed, that it is capital of (P1376) of Occitania. Please revert your edits. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 22:59, 17 March 2016 (UTC) .

Llywelyn2000, I reverted these edits because there are already statements for place of birth (P19) on these items which are more specific. For example, Toulouse is in Occitania so you don't have to add it. — Ayack (talk) 20:26, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
Many thanks Ayack. So, why, are they not counted as being (also) Occitanian in this table. When you deleted the 'born in', they were wiped off the table. There were 40, now there's 32. many thanks again, I'm sure we can sort this out. I can't really see no reason for NOT having more than one place of birth (town, county, official country name, unofficial country name, sovereign nation name etc) Llywelyn2000 (talk) 07:52, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
OK. As you have not responded, I'll change them back to user:Jiròni's original edit, so that they are counted as being born in Occitania. Thanks. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 12:58, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi Llywelyn2000,
Adding multiple intricated values like Toulouse (Q7880) and Occitania (Q104285) is a bad idea (except if you have source for this specific information but even in this case, we should use ranking to point the more precise value) ; the reason is simple : why not adding an infinity of values like France (Q142) + Europe (Q46) + Eurasia (Q5401) + Afro-Eurasia (Q27527) + Earth (Q2) + Solar System (Q544) + Orion Arm (Q33187) + Milky Way (Q321) and so on until Universe (Q1)? when to stop and where is the threshold?.
For your table, the reason is simple ; you gather people born (or dead) in Occitania (Q104285) or in places administratively located (located in the administrative territorial entity (P131)) in Occitania (Q104285). But Toulouse (Q7880) is not indicated in Wikidata as administratively located in Occitania (Q104285), that's why people bord in Toulouse doesn't appear in your table. Two solutions :

@VIGNERON:Many, many thanks for such a detailed answer. I understand your thinking. Thanks allso for your two suggestions, I follow up on the second one. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 08:08, 29 April 2016 (UTC)
