Tool of the week

  • Wikidata periodic table - Tool by User:Ricordisamoa, to browse all chemical elements available on Wikidata, with atomic number, chemical symbol, and localized label. It also includes two charts of the nuclides, with links to every isotope in Wikidata, colored by half-life or decay mode.

Other Noteworthy Stuff

  • A new UI mode is available for the online validator for EntitySchemas. It represents validation reports as a table rather than a very long string, and replaces most links with hyperlinks with some of the text behind them; making them easier to read. Currently being tested at https://shex-validator.toolforge.org/packages/shex-webapp/doc/shex-simple-improved.html, we are looking for participants to evaluate this tool. Some experience with editing Wikidata is appreciated, but no experience working with Schemas is required. If you are interested, you can sign up here. We hope to begin interviews around May 13. Hello Nikosguard,

I noticed another duplicate on ELWP: w:el:Ακεσαμενός and w:el:Ακασαμενός, coul you help me merge it? As far as I know there is only one Akesamenos and he's the father of Periboia; not too sure where that claim of him beeing a son of Poseidon might come from.

Thank you!

Hello Jahl de Vautban

After a little research I have no doubt that Ακασαμενός and Ακεσαμενός are the same person. So the two articles have to be merged.

In the article w:el:Ακασαμενός is mentioned as Akasemenos and as a son of Poseidon according to a source (page 373) that attests to this....

I believe the correct spelling is with the epsilon, so that would be Akesamenos - at least Iliad 21.142 and Stephanus of Byzantium both have it with the epsilon. I was able to read Kourtidis book, sadly he doesn't provide any source for that part so it's hard to say in what ancient source he might have read it. Other books more focused on mythology ( ) only ever mention the Iliad and Stephanus of Byzantium.

Thank you, Jahl de Vautban, for the very useful pieces of information and sources. Maybe I'll add them to the el.wikipedia article. You're absolutely right about epsilon!
