The subject of en:Computer science should be corresponded to de:Informatik, fr:Informatique, ru:Информатика, I suggest to merge the items (and remove en:Informatics (academic field) from interwikis, which is a very special subject, used in several U.S. universities, Bezik (talk) 16:05, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

I agree, the English page of computer science is the correspondent to French Informatique. The English page is a very specific subspecific field and should not have only correspondent in other language that have that distinction. I think this should be the same for most languages. 98.142.245.93 19:25, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

There are a number which seem to describe both. The ones without tell-tale signs of being disambig pages (the images, excessive description, etc.) I've left at 66. The others moved to 80. Otherwise, that's a first shot. --Izno (talk) 18:57, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

Q1269 (fruit preserve) / Q8752059 (jam) Q5834964 / (marmalade/marmelade)

Items involved: Q1269Talk, Q8752059Talk, Q5834964Talk Status:    resolved

I'm having some trouble resolving the three items mentioned above, and fighting against some bots. It seems that in English, jam is a subclass of fruit preserve, and marmalade is a subclass of jam. In German speaking languages, Marmelade and Konfiture are sometimes a synonym in common language use, but according to some Food Laws, marmalade is for citrus fruits, and jam (Konfitüre) is a fruit preserve without them. In Dutch and nds-nl (my native languages) jam/schem and marmelade have the same meaning as in the German speaking food law, but they are not used as synonyms in everyday language. Several bots have added Marmelade to Fruit preserve, but I think most of them should go to Jam or Marmalade. I already created the Jam item, but a lot of sitelinks are still on fruit preserves. I think most of them should move to one of the subclassed, but I don't have enough knowledge about every language to determine to which one they should go, taking into account that in several languages marmalade/jam is a synonym. Droadnaegel (talk) 21:50, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

It's a directive of the European Community. So I think that the rule to spilt jam and marmalade is correct also for others. --ValterVB (talk) 11:01, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I have moved all the Marmelade ones together, and all that was left I linked together with the more general en article about all kinds of preserved fruit. Only Sylt was left out... Resolved? Littledogboy (talk) 17:58, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

Q1089123/Q13099515 (Mark as unit and currency)

Items involved: Q1089123Talk, Q13099515Talk Status:    resolved

I guess I succeeded to link every article of this fiel to one of those two items, but it's hard to tell whether an article really belongs to the one or the other, especially as virtually every article at least mentions the other meaning, often covering both aspects to a certain detail. (With local interwiki links, there's also still a lot of confusion with articles that belong to Q6453503 (disambiguation page) or other Mark articles. Maybe someone wants to have a look at those links, too, though most of these issues should be solved now on Wikidata.) --YMS (talk) 19:17, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

All wiki-pages related to Q6453503 seems to be disambiguation pages (I didn't check if they should link together or not). Isn't the German description for a disambiguation page just "Begriffsklärung"? The Russian wiki-page [[1]] and the Ukraine wiki-page [[2]] discuss both meaning almost equally. The wiki-page [[3]] could be more about the measure, because of the numbers (I couldn't read anything else). Everything else looks fine for me and also your seperation in total looks good for me (I think we have to live with some imperfectness). --Zuphilip (talk) 22:21, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Q11269 = sylvester@en / Q12525597 = New Years Eve@en

Items involved: Q11269Talk, Q12525597Talk Status:    resolved

I added a German label to Q12525597 and description and would like to split these two terms correctly up. My suggestion: Q12525597 should include only the English and Russian wikipage and all others will be changed to Q11269. What do you think? --Zuphilip (talk) 15:40, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

It would indeed be better to have one general item including most of them, with only those languages which insist on two articles separated in a minor item.--Joostik (talk) 09:09, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
I changed the links now and the labels, descriptions and statements. Only in Portugese there are two pages V%C3%A9spera_de_Ano-Novo, Noite_de_S%C3%A3o_Silvestre which sound for me similar but we cannot assign both to Q11269. This is maybe not perfect, but I hope it is okay. May I close this issue now? --Zuphilip (talk) 22:22, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
I suppose that all articles with "Sylvester" in its name should go in a separate item because the day can be not only as the New Year eve but also at 2nd of January. Infovarius (talk) 15:08, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
There are some pages which are focusing on the Feast of Pope Sylvester I, which is celebrated on different days. I tried to group them at Q12525597. All the other pages are concentrating at the last day of the year, its evening and night, and especially at the celebration in that night. I tried to group at Q11269. The seperation is not on a syntactical level. Actually, one can see it often in the wiki-pages: either there is a picture with fireworks or a picture with the Saint. Do you think that the seperation has an error or is completely wrong? --Zuphilip (talk) 18:42, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
I guess that after one week I can change the status to 'resolved'. --Zuphilip (talk) 12:02, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

These items came up for deletion at WD:RfD. It was previously merged and deleted, but then it was restored. Q5034193 is "Rhinobatos granulatus" and Q3318973 is "Glaucostegus granulatus". Based on some info from enwiki and eswiki (en:Rhinobatidae, es:Rhinobatidae), I'm almost certain that they are different. However, the English article (en:Sharpnose guitarfish) confuses the situation, as it contains elements of both items. I've tried to separate the sitelinks based on taxon name. The Anonymouse (talk) 18:05, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

See [4]: "Revision of the large genus Rhinobatos is proposing to elevate subgenera Glaucostegus to generic status, thus Rhinobatos granulatus will be referred to as Glaucostegus granulatus (L.J.V. Compagno pers. comm.). However, these changes are not yet published and until such time as they are the species should continue to be referred to as Rhinobatos granulatus." Q11351091 (ローラ・セコール) is the Japanese version of Q434840 (Laura Secord). They should be one.

I've dropped them a line on Marathi Wikipedia, they seem to have this article twice, perhaps different transcriptions. Littledogboy (talk) 12:17, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Two items (categories about balloons used as aircrafts) I suspect to have the same meaning.

Actually Q8287278 is a better fit. --Joostik (talk) 10:05, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
