Halden/Fredrikshald kommune/tettested/disambig

Items involved: Q109042Talk, Q11494262Talk, Q1341016Talk Status:    resolved

I would like to have some help with separating Halden Municipality (pop ~30000) from Halden Urban area/city (pop ~24000). There is also a disambig on a few projects. (The place also have the name "Fredrikshald" sometimes.) As far as I can see, nowiki has only 1 article, while nnwiki has 2. -- Lavallen (block) 13:58, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

No issue here. One item is about Halden as a settlement, whilst the other is about the administrative unit (municipality) as a collection of multiple settlements/villages. Can be closed. --Midas02 (talk) 09:52, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

radiation syndromes: Q275459/Q12712977

Items involved: Q275459Talk, Q12712977Talk Status:    resolved

The articles on "acute radiation syndrome" and "radiation sickness" do not seem to have a 1-1 correspondence: for one, Russian has also a more general article. I've created Q12712977 for the acute radiation syndrome. Apparently the acute radiation syndrome is what happens from being exposed to strong radiation for a short time; but "acute" does not refer to the radiation; also, the radiation strength numbers are either wrong in some article, or differ by country, or those are actually different things. I am not sure if the word "acute" in an article name guarantees its specificity. --AVRS (talk) 19:11, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Has been merged since, and seems to include the most general article each Wikipedia has on radiation sickness, poisoning; which seems reasonable. No conflict...? Littledogboy (talk) 20:56, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

I'm note sure if this is big vandalism by two IPs or if there has somebody done many work. However, it seems that there is not everything correct. I know that the German links are in the wrong items, but I haven't changed them yet. Maybe its really vandalism, then it wouldn't be so easy to reset it. The IPs:

  1. 87.16.191.109 (talkcontribslogs)
  2. 79.35.205.70 (talkcontribslogs)

According to the English articles, all two German links are wrong. (But one German article is not very clear, so this could be a mistake.) I need you help to solve if nearly all links are completely wrong or not. Thank you very much. Regards, --#Reaper (talk) 17:20, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

Items involved: Q7687674Talk, Q7155415Talk, Q7155403Talk, Q7208214Talk, Q7208157Talk Status:    resolved

In Wikipedia, there exist categories about conflicts by century and categories about battles by century. They have their own items, see this page, line starting with "Pattern found 6 times (with number 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 ...):". But items above are containing both battles and conflicts. We need to split every item in two different items: conflicts and battles.

I have already tried to split item Category:4th-century battles (Q7155384) (number 4) in Category:4th-century battles (Q7155384) and Category:4th-century conflicts (Q14511834) but somebody should check whether I did it correctly. Matěj Suchánek (talk) 08:13, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Same river. I merged the articles Sinos River and Dos Sinos River on English Wikipedia. I'm not sure if a Wikidata item should be deleted there as well. LeRoc (talk) 02:23, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

I went ahead and merged the two items since they describe the same river. I'll take a look at the naming situation on the English Wikipedia. (Side note: I don't know Portuguese, but a rough translation from words from Wiktionary gives "River of the Bells". Google Translation from English to Portuguese seems to agree. The proper English translation would be something like "Bells River" or "River of Bells", but since I don't see it named anywhere in English like that, the English title should probably just be Rio dos Sinos.) I have moved fr and bg from Q193762 to Q393941 since they are disambiguations. The entry "sinkhole" in English is connected with the entry "düden" in Turkish which is erroneous. It should be connected with the entry "obruk" in Turkish which is the correct geographical term for "sinkhole" in Turkish.

Therefore the connection to "düden" in Turkish to the entry "sinkhole" in English should be deleted and replaced by the entry "obruk" in Turkish.  – The preceding unsigned comment was added by THEWISEOLDTURK (talk • contribs).

This is more or less OK, see Wikidata:Disambiguation pages task force. Littledogboy (talk) 16:58, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

plastic (Q11474)/plastic (Q14927039)

Items involved: Q11474Talk, Q14927039Talk Status:    resolved

This came up at RfD the other day. The issue is two Dutch articles, nl:Kunststof and nl:Plastic. From what I can tell, "Kunststof" is for the actual material plastic, while "Plastic" is about the term in general. However, I'm not sure, so I am reporting this here. finance lease (Q192899)/finance lease (Q3829288)

Items involved: Q192899Talk, Q3829288Talk Status:    resolved

it:Leasing finanziario contains a merge request now for more than a year, but nobody seems to be willing to fulfill it (and the other article, it:Leasing (diritto italiano), doesn't containg the according template). However, from what I can tell, those are no duplicate articles anyway, but a generic one and one specific to the Italian law. If I'm right with this assumption, I don't see a reason why the specific Italian article should be linked to Q19... and the generic one being unconnected to other Wikipedias as the only sitelink of item Q38... Could someone check this who knows either Italian or all this finance stuff better than me? Thanks. --YMS (talk) 11:12, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

They have been merged to the first item, marking this as solved. Q.Zanden questions? 18:43, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
