Crow/Raven

Topic: Biology, Ornithology Items involved: Q43365Talk, Q8335Talk Status:    resolved

Q43365: The English article Crow is linked to the French Corvus and the German Raben und Krähen but is not equal, while the French and German articles include ravens, the English article does not. This creates further problems in Q8335 (Raven). --Sixsi6ma (talk) 17:19, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi. The genus Corvus has got a zoological taxobox and, no possible confusion, must be liked to english Corvus (Crow). By the way, in French Wp we have spécial zoological kind of desambiguation articals when taxa are mixing different vernacular names as well as popular concepts. For exemple fr:corbeau (raven like birds) ou fr:corneille (crow like), sould not be liked to taxonomical articles. --Salixen (talk) 19:11, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
there are no links linking from any of the pages on Q43365 or Q8335 to any page not in the item. --Akkakk (talk) 22:24, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Q1581685/Q205653 (Orient)

Items involved: Q1581685Talk, Q205653Talk Status:    resolved

These pages deal about the same notion of Orient. However, a lot of them seem to be interconnected with interlanguage links, as shows this diff by Addbot. I did not look very far into it, dunno if someone has an idea to sort this out. Place Clichy (talk) 18:51, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

First item mentioned is a disambiguation page, other is not. --Stryn (talk) 19:11, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Orient/East/Схiд confict is still quite messy, but I've managed to separate water articles (Q166620 expanded, Q124714 and Q7376362 refined), created Istok variants. Infovarius (talk) 22:54, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Q224233 (Kalinka Bamberski case)

Items involved: Q224233Talk Status:    resolved

Q224233 (Kalinka Bamberski case) is currently classified as a male person, but that's not right; it's probably best classified as an event. The corresponding German article is named after a male person though, who is not Kalinka Bamberski but Dieter Krombach. I don't know how to resolve that. AxelBoldt (talk) 22:53, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

From a brief review, it looks to me like the de: link should be split to a new item, as it is specifically about the person rather than the case. --Izno (talk) 23:30, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

The German page has been renamed since, and so all is in sync. Littledogboy (talk) 18:10, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

Need a German speaker to check, whether German links match English links. Danke. Littledogboy (talk) 13:53, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

The one I meant to mention was Q877944, lay judge = assessor? Littledogboy (talk) 18:37, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Q13368786 = "Jury trial"@en =? "Geschworenengericht". The emphazis in the Englisch article seems to be the "Jury" which is different form the judge(s). But the jury can still be legal trained person(s). Right? The German article about "Geschworenengericht" is describing only the case when the jury contains not legally trained persons = "Geschworene". In all American movies I have seen it always seems to be the case that the jury is consisting of "normal people" and not espacially legal persons. Okay? I should just mention that there is a similar German word "Schwurgericht" =? "Assizes"@en which is varying its meaning over time and countries. --Zuphilip (talk) 19:24, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Q877944 = "Lay judge"@en =? "Ehrenamtlicher Richter"@de. The German term means that this are judges = "Richter" but that is not their main job. They are volunteering = "ehrenamtlich" being a judge also they may receive some money for that. Does this help? --Zuphilip (talk) 19:51, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
My belated thanks, Zuphilip and Alexander – I think this is the best match we can achieve. Littledogboy (talk) 15:59, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

I was trying to add "Acidente de trabalho" to Q629257, but I couldn't do so because it already exists independently as Q9580992, which is linked to no other Wikipedia article, and will never be able to be linked as it exists as a separated topic, despite them being actually the same thing. Is there a way of solving this? Victor Lopes (talk) 04:28, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker

Items involved: Q51752Talk, Q12206942Talk Status:    resolved

Some wikis have an article for Vader, some have Anakin, and some have both. Dev920 (talk) 15:53, 31 July 2013 (UTC)

Since some wikis have articles for both, I think that both items should remain separate. All article links titled "Anakin Skywalker" should go in Q51752, and all links titled "Darth Vader" should go in Q12206942. The Anonymouse (talk) 04:13, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
The problem is, they are actually the same person, so when I'm interwiki linking, what do I link to? This came up because the French has Anakin Skywalker and the English has Darth Vader, and it's showing up on tools as not having an equivalent when, well, it does. 91.125.57.83 17:47, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
Atm we only have nasty hack... But wait a minute, why do they have two arts if it's the same character? Or I'd have to watch it to understand? Littledogboy (talk) 18:19, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
The Anakin Skywalker is the main character of the first three movies (second trilogy). The Darth Vader is the bad guy in the following movies (first trilogy). Basically is the same guy but I think it's normal some Wikis separate then. - Sarilho1 (talk) 20:25, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
I used local links as a workaround for interwiki linking (on the english and french pages). Does it mean the conflict is resolved? Morhelluin (talk) 10:10, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
Yes, it looks good. Not all local links are placed, but that is a minor detail. Marked as solved. Q.Zanden questions? 16:01, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
