Bakfiets[edit]

Hi, this is a mistake. The products of het 'bakfiets.nl' company is not what we consider to be a typical 'bakfiets' in the Netherlands. The mainstream 'bakfiets' is a cargo tricycle, the original situation was correct. Greetings from the Netherlands, Jcb (talk) 23:06, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Jcb My dutch is very poor. But doesn't mean "met twee of drie wielen", that it can be a tricycle or a bicycle? But then, what is the difference between a bakfiets and a transportfiets? MB-one (talk) 23:12, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A 'transportfiets' is much broader than a 'bakfiets' and mostly refers to a bicycle like this, which is very popular among teenagers currently, who put their backpack in the crate. A 'bakfiets' refers to a bicycle with a much bigger loading space, rather the size in which mothers can put one or two children to bring them to school, also very common in the Netherlands. A 'bakfiets' would normally have three wheels, two front wheels on each side of the 'bak'. Bakfietsen with only one wheel in front are quite rare. Jcb (talk) 23:23, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jcb Thank you for the explanation. So strictly speaking it's in its own category? MB-one (talk) 08:14, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, 'bakfiets' is one of the different kinds of 'transportfiets'. Jcb (talk) 08:30, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tool of the week

  • Wikidata periodic table - Tool by User:Ricordisamoa, to browse all chemical elements available on Wikidata, with atomic number, chemical symbol, and localized label. It also includes two charts of the nuclides, with links to every isotope in Wikidata, colored by half-life or decay mode.

Other Noteworthy Stuff

  • A new UI mode is available for the online validator for EntitySchemas. It represents validation reports as a table rather than a very long string, and replaces most links with hyperlinks with some of the text behind them; making them easier to read. Currently being tested at https://shex-validator.toolforge.org/packages/shex-webapp/doc/shex-simple-improved.html, we are looking for participants to evaluate this tool. Some experience with editing Wikidata is appreciated, but no experience working with Schemas is required. If you are interested, you can sign up here. We hope to begin interviews around May 13.
